On October 8, 2015, at the 22nd annual High-Tech Innovation Awards, Foothill’s FEAT (Foothill Engineering and Technology) program emerged victorious. After being nominated by Cal Poly Pomona, the students in FEAT filled out an application explaining their classes, programs and highlights.
Foothill was selected as one of the most innovative, along with Sean O’Bannon, who was a nominee for Emerging Student Innovator of the Year.
As a finalist, Foothill had to make a video of their program, demonstrating their highlights and achievements. At the High-Tech Innovation Awards banquet, out of the three schools who placed as finalists, Foothill was recognized as the most Innovative Schoolwide Program. Sean O’Bannon was also named the winner of the Emerging Student Innovator of Year for his development of the Foothill App.
Mr. Farr explains that what really set them above was the variety of programs and classes Foothill has to offer, such as robotics, classes for prototyping and different levels of engineering that really help students develop engineering skills.
