P.E, But Another Level

News alert! Foothill is adding new P.E. options for the 2023-2024 school year. These options not only add more variety to the PE curriculum, but they also give students more exercise options.

Some of the new classes include strength and conditioning, running, and weightlifting. In addition, sophomores will be able to take body pump and circuit workouts; this barbell-based rigorous routine focuses on one muscle group at a time to improve strength.

The new curriculum will also include cardio-based fitness, perfect for building up endurance, and team sports, ideal for those who want more of a team environment.

However, if you’re fearing that the traditional P.E. course has disappeared, do not be afraid; the traditional P.E. course will still be an option for students.

One of the benefits to these new classes is that they focus on more of a specific sport versus solely just exercising. Therefore, these classes are great if you are still on the fence on whether to join a sports team or not; they give you an upcoming taste of what the sport you’re considering is like.

In addition to these brand new options, Foothill is also considering adding more classes, specifically more dual-enrollment courses, with Irvine Valley College. So, be on the lookout for these courses: they may be released soon!
