As the spring sports season comes to a close, Foothill is once again eyeing a few CIF appearances.
Multiple division 1 and 2 teams are headed to the playoffs as Foothill wraps up an impressive sports season.
Boys soccer is playing Wilson on May 13th at home after a 10-5-2 season.
Both boys and girls track and field have multiple upcoming playoff games as they look to capitalize off winning seasons.
After an impressive 8-2 season that included three games in which they scored 20 or more points, boys lacrosse will have four CIF matchups beginning on May 28th and running through June 8th.
Baseball is on a mission to demolish every opponent it faces, posting an 18-3 record to this point, and have qualified to compete in CIF this June. The brackets for those games will be released on May 30th.
Additionally, boys basketball has qualified for playoffs with a 16-3 record. Girls basketball also has qualified for CIF, the brackets for both will be announced on May 23.
Girls lacrosse is ranked number one in CIF, as they hold an undefeated 9-0 record.
Girls wrestling is also facing a no-loss season as they currently rank 7th in CIF.
Girls tennis, profiting off of a 6-1 overall record and a 2-1 league record, play their first playoff match on May 12th against Arcadia.
Also in the tennis department, the boys swept up their opponents on the court this year, posting a 17-0 record, with 6 of those wins coming in league play. Their brackets will be announced on May 17th.
Given the special circumstances of this season, Foothill athletics had lots of impressive runs and hopefully can continue their success into the CIF season. Let’s go Knights!
