Fall Sports have concluded as the weather begins to become colder. Foothill’s teams fought hard through the regular season and displayed valiant efforts through the playoffs. Here is a recap of Foothill’s team performances in the Fall CIF Playoffs.

The boys Varsity Football team displayed strength and resilience as they battled through the regular season and earned 2nd place in the Crestview League. Our Knights earned home-field advantage in the first round of the Division 5 CIF Playoffs and took on the Aquinas Falcons at Northrup Stadium. Foothill recovered a fumble on the kick-off, foreshadowing the eventual result of the game. Like all season-long, Foothill gave the ball to Aaron Mitchell and watched him run for five touchdowns. Foothill’s strong defense secured a 35-22 win over the Aquinas Falcons. Foothill played at Bradford Stadium instead of Northrup in the next round of the playoffs because of the Tustin hangar fires. They fought hard throughout the game but fell short of advancing with a 34-41 loss against the Newbury Park Panthers. Although Foothill did not win the championship, everyone demonstrated how to overcome adversity during the season.

Varsity Boys Water Polo entered the playoffs with a 17-12 record and 1st place in the Crestview League granted the Boys Water Polo team a trip to the Division 1 playoffs. Foothill earned a bye and had to take on the Laguna Beach Breakers to advance past the semifinals. A game that went down to double overtime was determined by one point as Foothill lost with a score of 12-11. Although the game result was not what Foothill wanted, Boys Water Polo ended the season with a division Title. An impressive 12-5 record featuring a 6-0 sweep of the Crestview League gave Foothill’s Girls Tennis team a trip to CIF Playoffs. With a first-round bye, Foothill played the University Trojans in the second round at home. Unfortunately, the Trojans got the best of the Knights with a score of 12-6. Although they fell short in the playoffs, Foot-
hill‘s Girls Tennis brought home a strong division title. Foothill’s Boys Cross Country began the season unranked but shocked the league by earning a division title! With an impressive 9th place ranking in Division 2, the Boy’s Cross-Country team earned a trip to the CIF Playoffs, but fell just short of qualifying for state. Despite the result, Oliver Tesch, Ricky Poulsen, Jack Horrocks, Nicholas Di Saia, and Nathan Horrocks earned the fastest team time for Foothill since 1998.
