This week, Netflix officials notified the public that the company will be imposing a new limit to restrict the amount of hours that viewers can watch programs. Due to the rise in popularity of “binge watching.” The practice of watching several continuous hours of programing, Netflix hopes that the restriction on viewing time will benefit both the viewers and the company. Scientists have discovered that “binge watching” can cause severe negative health problems, such as muscle deterioration and obesity. Accordingly, Netflix created the hour limit in order to avoid any legal issues that result from binge watching-related health issues. Even though Netflix knows that subscriptions will decrease, the company hopes that current and future subscribers will appreciate that the corporation is concerned for the health of its customer base. *
